A new home in a UNESCO landmark

You'll find us right on Smetanovo náměstí (the main square) in Litomyšl — in a house that is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. The whole building has been completely renovated and we're opening for the very first time; you are among our first guests.

We carefully restored the original furniture — armchairs and solid pieces — and complemented it with modern, bespoke furniture by a local joinery. So history meets precise contemporary craft. We hope you'll love it as much as we do — and that you'll want to come back to us again.

Plus a private garden with a passage onto the Valy promenade and 24/7 access — arrive and leave whenever suits you. The garden is still a work in progress, but it's already fully available to you. Next year we plan to expand it significantly — with two more buildings, a shelter and a barbecue seating area, and perhaps a little more.

In each apartment you'll have complete privacy, your own bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. You can watch films late into the night or finally finish that book you've been putting off for weeks. We named the apartments after the family of the original upholsterers; we're currently taking bookings for the Mirek apartment, with the other two on the way.

📶 Wi-Fi: fast connection throughout the apartment.

❄️ Air conditioning & heating: AC and a thermostat to set the temperature.

📺 TV: Netflix and Czech TV catch-up (iVysílání ČT).

🍳 Kitchen: coffee machine, built-in fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, extractor hood, induction hob and soft-close drawers.

🛁 Bathroom: shower, WC, towels, soap, an electric heating element (dry your towels even in summer) and an electrically opening window with a rain sensor for worry-free ventilation.

🧰 Amenities: a folding child's cot, hairdryer, shampoo, soap, adapters and chargers. An ironing board, iron, drying rack, mop and more are available to house guests.

Full renovation

⏱️ The renovation took 7 years

For seven years we carefully renovated the house down to the last detail — new wiring, heating, bathrooms and surfaces — while preserving the character of this historic house on the square. We're opening for the very first time and you are among our first guests.

Design furnishings

The heart of the interior is the carefully restored original upholstered armchairs and solid furniture by Jindřich Halabala — a piece of local and Czechoslovak design history. It's complemented by modern, bespoke furniture from a local joinery, made to measure for the house. Quality, practical and beautiful.

Private garden

An enclosed garden where your children can play safely — with a sensory (haptic) path and toys. And the biggest bonus: the garden has a direct passage onto the Valy — a beautiful walking promenade above the town. The garden is still a work in progress, but you can already use it. Next year we plan to expand it significantly — with two more buildings, a shelter and a barbecue seating area.

24/7 access

You enter the house through the main door using an access code; the apartment keys are in a coded box by the door. Arrive and leave whenever suits you — no waiting for a handover. The building is also protected by a camera system for everyone's peace of mind.

Park right on Smetanovo náměstí, a few steps from the house. On weekdays it's paid (machine at each end of the square / app); free from 13:00 on Saturday and all day Sunday.

FAQ

How does check-in and key handover work?

Access is 24/7. You enter through the main door with an access code; the apartment keys are in a coded box by the door. We'll send you the codes before arrival.

How does check-out work?

Check-out is by 10:00. When you leave, please lock the keys back into the coded box by the apartment door, so they're ready for our cleaning team.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Yes, bed linen and towels are ready in the apartment.

Where do I park?

Right on Smetanovo náměstí for a fee (paid zone), a few steps from the house.

Can we come with a pet?

Unfortunately, stays with pets are not possible. Thank you for understanding.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival (100 % deposit refund). For cancellation 14–7 days in advance we charge 50 % of the stay; less than 7 days in advance or no-show, 100 %.

Is there barrier-free access in the building?

Unfortunately not — the building has a historic opuka-stone staircase, so access to the apartments is not barrier-free. If you have questions, please contact us.

Can we arrive late in the evening?

Yes — thanks to independent 24/7 access you can arrive whenever suits you.

Do you offer childcare on site?

Yes, the Dudýsek playroom and childcare operates in the building. Let us know your interest when booking.
